NPBA: Specialists stop Rebels 93-85, Eagles Nest get 96-89 win over Elites

THE Uptown Cuts Specialists and the Leno Eagles Nest prevailed in the New Providence Basketball Association double header at the AF Adderley Gymnasium on Monday night.

The Specialists pulled off a 93-85 triumph over the Patmor Rebels in the men’s division one feature contest, while the Leno Eagles Nest knocked off the Sports Center Elites 96-89.

Colton Albury, in 31 minutes and 40 seconds on the court, poured in 20 points with 13 rebounds and five assists to lead Uptown Specialists, who improved to 6-7.

Adorn Charlow had 18 points, 10 rebounds, three assists and a steal, Salathiel Dean had 16 points, eight rebounds and five assists, Jeron Smith had 10 points, three rebounds and two assists, Derrick Ferguson had eight points and a pair of rebounds and assists, Mitch Bain had seven points, nine assists and five rebounds and Nico Scavella contributed five points with six rebounds and three blocked shots.

For the Rebels, who fell to 2-10, Deniro Kemp exploded for a game-high 28 points on 12-for-19 shots from the field, 1-for-6 from the three-point line and 3-for-4 from the free-throw line as he played 35:16 minutes.

He also had 14 rebounds and six assists.

Jason Cambridge helped out with 26 points, 11 rebounds and six assists, Tyroner Sands Jr had 15 points, eight rebounds, three assists and as many steals, Theo Ferguson had eight points, five rebounds and two blocks and Arnold Stubbs chipped in with six points, eight blocks, seven rebounds and two assists.

Eagles Nest 96,

Elites 89

Donte Deveaux had a big game with 34 points, 12 rebounds, three assists, three steals and two blocks to lead Leno as they improved to 7-6.

Jonaldo Joseph had 19 points, nine rebounds, three steals, two blocks and an assist, Tyrell Butler had 17 points and six rebounds, Johnacy Augustin added nine points, 11 rebounds, eight assists and seven steals, Adderley St Dick had eight points, 11 rebounds, three steals, two blocks and an assist and Voushaun Bullard had six points, three rebounds, two steals and a block.

In a losing effort for the Sports Center, whose record fell to 3-9, Dario McKenzie scored 23 points with 13 rebounds, nine steals and eight assists.

Simar Rolle had 22 points, seven rebounds, an assist, a steal and a block, twin brother Tario McKenzie had 16 points, six rebounds, four assists and two steals, Ricardo Taylor Jr had 11 points, eight rebounds, two assists, a steal and a block, Maleak Johnson had seven points, nine rebounds, four steals, two assists and a block and Anfernee Jenoure had six points, 22 rebounds and two assists.
