NPBA All-Star Game and Fun Night tomorrow

THE New Providence Basketball Association will showcase its top talent when the league hosts its All-Star Game and Fun Night.

The top players in both Divisions I and II will faceoff to highlight a night that will also feature a Three-Point Contest and Skills Challenge, February 28 at the AF Adderley Gymnasium. Gates open at 6pm with an admission fee of $3.

Team “Michael Bain Jr” will be the home team for the Division I All-Star game. Named to the team are Abel Joseph (Discount Distributor Rockets), Robert Joseph (University of the Bahamas), Colton Albury (Uptown Cuts Specialists), Dave Davis (Breezes High Flyers), Rashad Sturrup (University of the Bahamas), Theo Ferguson (Patmor Rebels), Shanton Pratt (Breeze’s High Flyers), Georgio Walkes (Discount Distributor Rockets), Kenneth Pratt (Leno Regulators), Sharaz LaFleur (Island Dimension and Development Wolverines) and Adam Johnson (Commonwealth Bank Giants).

Devon Johnson will serve as the head coach, assisted by Bacchus Rolle and Garrett Bullard.

The Away squad will be “Team D’Shon Taylor” and will feature Livingston Munnings (Discount Distributor Rockets), Jeremy Neely (Breeze’s High Flyers), Malik Penn (Abaco Strong), Salathiel Dean (Uptown Cuts Specialists), William Rigby (JD’s Seafood Shockers), Kemsey Sylvestre (University of the Bahamas), Alex Rolle (Leno Regulators), Trevez Hamilton (BIBT Great Whites), Domonique Fernander (Island Dimension and Development Wolverines), Lenny Oscar (JD’s Seafood Shockers) and Gregory Seymour (Fort Charlotte Defenders)

Perry Thompson Jr will serve as the head coach, assisted by Donnie Culmer and Marcellus Mortimer.

The defending champion Giants are the league’s top team at 14-0 while the Breezes High Flyers are 11-5. The Discount Distributor Rockets lead the Vince Ferguson at 13-2 while the UB Mingoes are 12-3.

In the Division II All-Star Game, “Team Dylan Musgrove” will be the home team.

Named to the team Troy Trembley, Lerecus Armbrister, Collin Storr, Donte Deveaux, Janaldo Joseph, Terell Bridgewater, Deangelo Mackey, Jefferson Oliver, Stephon Johnson, Dario McKenzie and Mark Sawyer.

Mark Hanna is the head coach, assisted by Kronoff Dean and Michael Reid.

They will take on “Team Johnley Noel” coached by Moses Johnson with assistants Sterling Pratt and Keno Demeritte.

Team Noel members include Andreas Black, Anton Williams, Comardo Seymour, Cameron Cherry, Tyrell Butler, Brendon Stubbs, Cameron Strachan, Alvano Miller, Antonio Hanna, Tario McKenzie and Shamir Rolle.

The Your Essential Store Giants lead the league and the Godfrey McQuay division at 14-0 while the Sun Oil Rockets lead the Charles Mackey division at 10-4.

The field for the 3-Point contest will feature the top sharpshooters in the league.

Participants include Derrick Ferguson, Tomeko Moxey, Ryan Turnquest, Malik Penn, Crosley Wilmore, Jonathan Johnson, Johnley Noel and Antonio Hanna.

The Skills Challenge will feature a cross section of agility, speed, ball handling, passing and shooting.

The field for this event includes Timothy Bullard, Clayton Miller, Ujamma Johnson, Leon Rahming, Darrio McKenzie, Wilben Seraphin, Anton Williams and Jeffrey Williams.

The league resumed play this week following the completion of the 38th Hugh Campbell Basketball Classic.
