A 51-year-old man was yesterday remanded to prison over allegations he had sex with a minor.

Glenroy Lynes appeared before Deputy Chief Magistrate Andrew Forbes charged with one count of unlawful sexual intercourse, after he was accused of having sex with a 13-year-old girl on July 10.

Lynes was not required to enter a plea and the matter was adjourned to October 28 for service of a voluntary bill of indictment (VBI). Bail was denied and he was remanded to the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services in the interim. He has a right to apply to the Supreme Court for bail.

Yesterday, Shervin Colebrooke also appeared before Magistrate Forbes after he was accused of indecently assaulting a woman on July 10.

Like Lynes, Colebrooke was not required to enter a plea and the matter was adjourned to October 28 for trial for service of a voluntary bill of indictment (VBI). Bail was denied and he was remanded into custody until that time. He also has a right to apply to the Supreme Court for bail.
