Juniors shine in weekend tournament

UNDER 16 competitors Dentry Mortimer and Anthony Burrows Jr receive their trophies from tournament director Wesley Rolle and president Darnette Weir.

A successful U14 and U16 Junior Tennis Tournament was held at the National Tennis Centre this weekend. The event is an official tournament on The Bahamas Lawn Tennis Association (BLTA) 2020 Calendar.

The winners of the championship rounds are:

U14 Girls

BreAnn Ferguson - Winner

Sarai Clarke - Runner-Up

U14 Boys

Jackson Mactaggart - Winner

Cailan Bowe - Runner-Up

U16 Girls

Kaylee Kanuka - Winner

Kinza Johnson - Runner-Up

U16 Boys

Dentry Mortimer - Winner

Anthony Burrows Jr - Runner-Up

The next junior tournament on the BLTA’s calendar is the Easter Clay Court Championships, on April 10-13 at the Gym Tennis Club. The event will include the U8s-U18s.
