Drivers causing a hazard

EDITOR, The Tribune

I would like to raise awareness of one of the growing issues on our streets at night. The streets of Nassau have become plagued with drivers who drive with their high beams instead of their low beams. This creates a serious hazard for oncoming traffic as you get blinded temporarily as the oncoming vehicle approaches you with their high beams.

A trained eye can see that most persons are doing it to compensate for only having one working low beam, and in other cases the lens on their headlights are hazy and reduces the effectiveness of their low beams. If you’re reading this and you know you’re guilty of this, you should strongly consider getting your headlights polished by a professional or getting that burnt out bulb replaced. It’s for your safety and your fellow road users.
