Wardrick Wilson’s recruitment has reopened since he signed on for a year of prep football and the former four star recruit had already received one official Division I offer.

Wilson received an offer from the Old Dominion Monarchs, a Conference-USA contender that won the Bahamas Bowl in 2016.

The Monarchs canceled football and all fall sports this season due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the football programme looks to return in fall 2021.

Wilson, a former Florida Gators signee, was unable to join the programme due to VISA and immigration issues after he originally committed in December 2018.

Now a member of the North Palm Beach Prep Pumas football programme, the 6’5” 320 pound offensive lineman is prepared to and sign with a collegiate programme this winter according to mentor Michael TUnsil.

“Wilson is playing a prep year to get back in shape after sitting out last season. Wilson will be a 5x4 when he signs with a D1 in December,” Tunsil said via Twitter, “ Wardrick Wilson has finally taken care of his immigration issues.Wilson has [his] green card/social security card in hand and is available to attend any D1 school as [an] NCAA full qualifier.”

North Palm Beach Prep, is a college prep programme based in Port St. Lucie, Florida designed to give students a final year of preparation ahead of collegiate football.

“North Palm Beach Prep, is the premiere destination for student athletes seeking to excel to greater heights post high school graduation,” the organisation said in a release.

Schools in the SEC, Big Ten and ACC have also reportedly inquired about Wilson’s recruitment should he not continue with the Gators.

Wilson moved to the United States in 2016 and quickly became a rising star on the football field as an offensive lineman.

He became noteworthy in the state at Miami’s Doral Charter Academy but transferred to Miami Norland before eventually finishing at Miami Carol City High.
