Woman hurt in Inagua car crash

AN immigration officer was involved in a traffic accident in Inagua on Sunday.

According to a release from officials, around 1.15am on Sunday, an accident occurred involving a Department of Immigration Jeep Wrangler and a civilian vehicle.

The woman civilian driver received serious injuries, however, the immigration officer was not seriously injured, the department said.

A silver coloured five-door foreign vehicle driven by the civilian female also received extensive damage, while the department’s Jeep Wrangler received some damage.

Local medical teams and officers of the Royal Bahamas Police Force were reportedly on the scene while police and senior immigration officials are on their way to Inagua to engage in further detailed investigations regarding this serious matter.

The department said it sends “thoughts and prayers” to the injured party and her family.
