TRAVIS Munnings and his UD Oliveirense head into Portugal’s Liga Portuguesa de Basquetebol (LPB) playoffs as the No.5 seed as they look to claim a third consecutive title.

Oliveirense will open the quarterfinals series against SL Benfica tonight in Lisbon, Portugal. Game two will be on April 24, game three on April 29, game four and five (if necessary) on May 1 and 3.

Munnings concluded the regular season with averages of 12.5 points, eight rebounds and 3.3 assists per game. His team finished the season at 19-7.

Oliveirense heads into the playoffs with wins in eight of their last 10 games, including an 87-76 win over Sporting CP in the finale.

Oliveirense also holds a 2-1 edge in three meetings between the clubs this season.

Oliveirense is the two-time defending champion. Munnings joined their quest for a third consecutive title after last season was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Munnings played the previous season with La Rochelle Stade Rochelais of France’s NM1 League.

He averaged 17.5 points, eight rebounds and 3.8 assists per game through six games.

In his debut with the team, he finished with 24 points on 10-15 shooting from the field, 4-6 from three-point range and added five rebounds in a 55-44 win over Stade De Vanves.
