ACM CONFERENCE TOMORROW

THE Anglican Church Men (ACM) of the Diocese of The Bahamas and Turks & Caicos Islands will come together virtually for the 47th Conference and 2021 Annual General Meeting tomorrow, from 9am.

The theme of this year’s conference is “Your faith is a gift from God. Use It!” The scripture verse for this conference is Ephesians 2:8 “For by grace you have been saved by faith. This is not your own doing. It is a gift from God.”

Participation includes registrants from both countries, and participation expected by member of the Anglican Church Men of the West Indies.

Featured speakers include Casey Bethel of Georgia, and Dr Hilgrove Lightbourne from the Ministry of Health. The day will start with prayers Fr Dwight Rolle (rector at St Ambrose Church).

The conference began with the Theophilus Glinton Pre-Conference Breakfast on April 17. A special guest, Kevin Bonnet from Guyana, spoke about IVF, infertility and the social and psychological pressures created when there are difficulties conceiving a child.

Anchoring the event was Deacon Kristopher Higgs (assigned to St Barnabas) on how we are called to be more than conquerors as men.

A panel included past branch president from Holy Cross CJ McKenzie with past council presidents Kevin Ryan, Everette Mackey and Dwight Gibson. The breakfast paid tribute to Theophilus Glinton who died earlier this year, while serving as chaplain of the ACM.

The conference will also provide an opportunity for the annual general meeting and the election of officers.
