A 27-YEAR-OLD man was arrested in connection with a shooting incident this week in the Freeport area, a senior police official reported.

Superintendent of Police Terecita Pinder reported that on Tuesday police were called to the Coral Road area near a business establishment shortly before 6pm to investigate reports of gunshots being discharged.

She said that officers of the Criminal Investigation Department also responded and an investigation was launched.

According to Supt Pinder, shortly after 12noon on Wednesday CID officers arrested a male resident of Canary Drive in connection to the matter.

She reported that officers then went to an area on Westminster and King Neptune Drive, where a silver .9mm pistol, with three rounds of ammunition, was recovered. The suspect is expected to be arraigned before the Magistrate Court in connection to this matter later this week.
