Heroes of Zimbabwe

EDITOR, The Tribune.

It is a pity that Zimbabweans said that they are celebrating Zimbabwe heroes and defence forces days recently.

If the heroes fought for the liberation of Zimbabwe then Zimbabweans should remind and ask themselves why in a liberated country more than seven million Zimbabweans are living in South Africa, United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Botswana and Canada?

Instead of celebrating the achievements made by those who liberated the country, Zimbabweans should be questioning themselves why so many people have left the liberated country and invaded other countries and stretched resources of those countries beyond limit.

I definitely salute, respect and honour those people who fought tirelessly for Zimbabwe to be liberated from the colonial masters.

I do not agree that with the current climate of economic failures, dilapidated health and educational system, there should be celebrations.

Zimbabweans should be putting ideas together that will take the country out from economic quagmire which has pushed more than seven million Zimbabweans to go and live in other countries.

President Emmerson Mnangagwa should be focusing on repairing the country’s economic systems so that citizens can have tangible benefits of being liberated from the chains of colonial masters.
