AN office administrator who denied defrauding a local bakery of more than $100,000 was yesterday granted bail before her trial.

Revette Miller, also known as Revette Darville, 38, appeared before Magistrate Algernon Allen, Jr charged with several fraud-related offences which she was accused of committing between 2018 and 2020.

She pleaded not guilty to 29 counts of stealing by reason of employment, falsification of accounts and money laundering.

Prosecutors said Miller stole $3,700 from 3 S Bakery on July 26, 2018.

They further alleged that she made a false entry in the bakery’s QuickBooks accounting software, purporting to show that a $3,700 cheque from the pastry shop was paid to Hanna’s Electric.

Miller is also accused of stealing $8,479.57 from the bakery in August 2018 and another $8,298.61 in September 2018.

According to the prosecution, Miller stole another $76,894.86 from the bakery between October 2018 and January 2020.

They also alleged she made two more false entries purporting to show the bakery made a $3,869 cheque payable to Nassau Plastics on October 13, 2018 as well as a $2,656.35 cheque payable to Variety Disposable on October 18, 2018.

Miller is further accused of knowingly acquiring $107,376.04, which represented the proceeds of crime, on a Scotiabank Limited account in the name of Arrab Medical Supply Trading as Revette Darville between July 2018 and January 2020.

After accepting her not guilty pleas, Magistrate Allen, Jr, adjourned Miller’s case to November 8 for trial.

She was granted $12,000 bail in the interim. As part of the conditions of her release, she must surrender all of her travel documents and sign into Lucaya police station in Grand Bahama weekly leading up to her trial.

Magistrate Allen, Jr, warned Miller that if she breached the conditions of her bail, she could risk being remanded in custody until her case was completed.
