A 42-year-old man who admitted to stealing $100 from a tourist last week was sentenced to five months in prison yesterday.

Mario Roker stood before Magistrate Kendra Kelly facing one count of stealing for actions he committed on December 4.

Police alleged that on the day in question, the accused stole $100 from Saralin Darasvath while on Paradise Island.

During yesterday’s hearing, Roker pleaded guilty to the offence and was subsequently sentenced to two months in prison.

However, Magistrate Kelly imposed an additional three-month sentence after it was revealed that Roker had breached a 2017 order that barred him from entering Paradise Island for five years.

Roker was told the sentences will run concurrently. He was subsequently remanded to prison.
