A 40-year-old man who denied exposing himself in front of a woman’s ten-year-old daughter was yesterday denied bail before his trial.

Jason Eneas was arrested after he was allegedly found naked in the girl’s bedroom on December 5.

It is also alleged he touched the minor’s stomach while in the bedroom.

He pleaded not guilty to indecent assault during his second appearance before Magistrate Kendra Kelly yesterday.

Prosecutor Vernon Pyfrom asked the court for bail to be denied given the serious nature of the offence and the “tender” age of the complainant.

He also argued Eneas had antecedents and was recently released from prison after serving a two-year sentence.

However, Eneas countered it was his first time being charged in court for such an offence and again denied committing the act.

“I’ve never been charged with this type of case in my life… I could understand if it was grievous (harm) or something I was already charged with, but I never been caught up in these types of things,” he said.

However, Magistrate Kelly said based on the nature of the offence, she was not inclined to grant bail. Eneas was remanded to prison and the matter was adjourned to February 2 for trial. He has the right to apply to the Supreme Court for bail.
