THE Bahamas Lawn Tennis Association extended congratulations to Dentry Mortimer Jr and his partner Eduardo Menezes for teaming up to win the boys under-16 doubles title at the Lil Mo competition at the Palm Beach Gardens Tennis Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.

The mixed doubles format consisted of one 6-game set, no-ad scoring, with a 7-point tiebreaker. In the finals, Mortimer Jr and Menezes won over Juan and Matias Hidrobo 8-6.

Mortimer also played in the singles competition where he reached the boys under-16 consolation round.

The BLTA applauds Mortimer Jr on his achievements on this international stage.

Each year, Little Mo features 500 players from approximately 60 countries. This year was the 15th edition.

The competition provided a lot of exposure for our Bahamian juniors who played, some represented for the first time.

There were also some quarterfinal appearances, including Briana Houlgrave in mixed doubles with partner Sena Furugen and Breann Ferguson in U14 girls singles, and Cameron Ferguson in the boys U10 singles.

According to the BLTA, they all represented the country well.
