The first mothers to have their babies in Princess Margaret Hospital on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day have received gifts to help as they welcome their newborns.
Frankyn Pennerman was the first to welcome a baby on Christmas Day, with her baby boy arriving at 12.54am weighing 6lb 2oz, while the first baby girl of Christmas Day was born to Vanessa Poitier-Smith, weighing 8lb, at 1.20am.
The first baby of 2021 was a baby boy born to Geldilia Jean at 12.50am, weighing 6lb 12oz. The first baby girl was born to Deatra Miller at 5.02am, weighing 7lb 13.4oz.
The hospital, in partnership with the Kiwanis Club of Nassau, continued its annual tradition of giving special recognition to the first babies born.
New mothers received $200 gift certificates to Sandy’s Ltd, on behalf of the hospital and Sharon Johnson of Cookie Collections.
The New Year babies also received gift baskets from the Kiwanis club.
