BAHAMIAN competitors Kaif Young, Jason Johnson, Paul Wilson, Serena Decius-Norius and Dawn Charlton were among the top performers at the International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness (IBBF) Pro League World Caribbean Championships.

The championships, organised by American Tim Gardner, was held on Saturday at the Grand Hyatt at Baha Mar. While professional cards were offered to the overall winners, none of the Bahamians earned that distinction. Young emerged as a double champion, taking the first place trophies in the Open Men’s Physique Class D category and the Men’s Physique Masters (Over 35) category.

Johnson, on the other hand, was second in the Open Men’s Physique Class C, while Wilson also got second in Men’s Classic Physique Class A, but he won the lightweight division in Men’s Bodybuilding.

Decius-Norius, the wife of professional bodybuilder Jimmy Norius, won the Women’s Figure Masters (Over 35) and was second in the Open Women’s Figure Class A. Charlton secured the Open Women’s Bikini Class E and the Women’s Bikini Masters (Over 35) in a return to competition after a brief hiatus.

In other results posted by Bahamians competing in the show, Shakira Ferguson got third in the Open Women’ Bikini in Class C and in the Women’s Bikini Masters.

And veteran Sidney ‘Butts’ Outten was second in Men’s Bodybuilding Masters (Over 40).

Nardo Dean, a long-time friend of Gardner, who helped to organise the show, was awarded the Goodwill Ambassador Award.
