BAHAMIAN Abigail Simms, with her exceptional play, has been instrumental in the Indiana Tech Warriors going undefeated (5-0) for the start of the college season.
Simms also has a perfect record for the season in singles and doubles - 3-0 and 5-0 respectively.
On February 19, playing against Indiana University East, Simms won over Ashlyn Hubbard in singles, 6-1 and 6-0.
On the doubles side, Simms and teammate Hrnjak won easily over Caballero and Marino 6-1.
On February 22, Simms played doubles with Hrnjak against the Lourdes University Gray Wolves. This duo played exceptional and won 6-0.
This focused and consistent play led to Abigail making history for women’s tennis at her school by earning national rankings in the Oracle ITA NAIA Women’s Rankings (ranked 38th) at the end of last year.
The Bahamas Lawn Tennis Association (BLTA) congratulates Simms on a perfect season so far and wishes her all the best in future match play.
