GRAND BAHAMA COUPLE CHARGED OVER DRUGS

A GRAND Bahama couple was charged with possession of dangerous drugs with intent to supply in the Freeport Magistrate’s Court this week.

Travelle Lightbourne, 39, and Monica Mackey, 27, both of Fortune Bay Drive, appeared in Court Two before Magistrate LaQuay Laing on two counts of possession of dangerous drugs with the intent to supply.

It is alleged that on March 7, at Freeport, the accused were found in possession of dangerous drugs, namely cocaine and Indian Hemp, with intent to supply.

According to reports, police discovered drugs and marijuana ingredients in packaging similar to legitimate snack products at a residence in the Lucaya area.

The couple pleaded not guilty to the charges. They were granted $6,000 bail with one or two sureties and ordered to sign in at Central Police Station every Monday and Wednesday between 6am and 6pm.

The matter was adjourned to June 8, 2021.
