FOUR people were found with marijuana, firearms and ammunition at a Lucaya residence on Grand Bahamas this week, police reported.

Supt Terecita Pinder said DEU officers executed a search warrant shortly after 11pm on Wednesday at a residence on Pink Pearl Drive, at Fortune Bay.

During a search, officers discovered a quantity of hydroponic marijuana, an extended 9mm magazine, a Glock magazine, a black Tech-9 semi-automatic weapon with a magazine containing 18 rounds of ammunition and a Smith and Wesson magazine.

As a result, four adults, two men and two men, were arrested.

In other crime news, DEU officers confiscated drugs found in a backpack.

According to reports, shortly before 3pm on Wednesday, officers were on routine patrol on Queen’s Highway in the Deadman’s Reef area where they observed two male occupants riding a red and white dirt bike with no license plate attached.

Officers beckoned for the driver to stop, but the driver sped off and the passenger was observed discarding a backpack.

Supt Pinder said the occupants were able to evade the officers, who then went back and retrieved the backpack. On searching it, they discovered 1.5 pounds of suspected marijuana, with a street value of $1,500. Investigations are continuing into this matter.
