Employee accused of theft

A FREEPORT woman was charged with stealing by reason of employment yesterday.

Marilyn Forbes, 43, of Hill Court, appeared before Chief Magistrate Joyann Ferguson Pratt in Grand Bahama. She was charged with one count of stealing by reason of employment, one count of falsification of accounts, and one count of acquisition of proceeds of criminal conduct.

The accused pleaded not guilty to the charges and elected a summary trial.

Forbes was granted $5,000 bail and ordered not to leave the country before commencement of her trial. The matter was adjourned to April 7, 8, and 9.
