Corrections in need of correcting

EDITOR, The Tribune.

I am writing to thank Mr Taylor and Davis for their courage in speaking out about their experiences in Prison. It is a national disgrace to read a public institution and its officers who are paid to help people that have lost their way and need help are instead adding fuel to the fire.

Where is the outcry from pastors, politicians and human rights advocates? Where are the calls for an independent investigation? If we don’t fix these issues; fix the broken leadership at the Department of Corrections, we will only continue to slowly dig our own grave as a nation. I pray that more brave men and women will come forward and expose the raw truth to the public.

There is also the problem of putting young black men in jail for minor offences for which they could have done community service

Then they pump their chest.and have a KODAK moment for letting people out of prison who should not have been in jail in the first place?

Why take a picture with MR Farquson when one does not want the world to know they were in jail.
