Battle 4 Atlantis returns this year

AFTER the COVID-19 pandemic brought an abrupt end to the NCAA basketball season and the country’s sports tourism calendar, Complete Sports Management’s Battle 4 Atlantis is set to return in 2021.

The men’s tournament, presented by Bad Boy Mowers will move into its 10th edition while the women’s tournament will have an opportunity to host its delayed inaugural edition this year at the Atlantis resort.

The women’s tournament will be a three-day event, November 20-22, and features a 12-team field which includes several past national champions.

Perennial contenders Uconn Huskies, led by head coach Geno Auriemma and South Carolina Gamecocks, led by head coach Dawn Staley, will headline the group.

Other teams set to compete include 2021 NCAA tournament teams the Oregon Ducks (PAC 12), South Florida Bulls (American Athletic Conference), Syracuse Orange (Atlantic Coast Conference), Buffalo Bulls (Mid-American Conference), Minnesota Golden Gophers (BIG 10) and Oklahoma Sooners (BIG 12).

The field for the men’s tournament will be hosted November 24-26 and will feature several returning programmes.

The UConn Huskies (American Athletic Conference) will make their third tournament appearance while the Syracuse Orange (ACC), Michigan State Spartans (BIG 10), and Virginia Commonwealth Rams (A10) will make their second appearance.

The remainder of the field includes the Baylor Bears (Big 12), Arizona State Sun Devils (PAC 12), Auburn Tigers (SEC) and Loyola-Chicago Ramblers (Missouri Valley Conference) making their B4A debut in the 2021 field.
