Deshaughn Forbes and Warriors advance to final four

DESHAUGHN Forbes and his Trinity Christian Warriors, out of Lake Worth, Florida, are headed to the Florida High School Athletic Association Final Four.

Forbes went 2-4, with five RBI as the Warriors won the Regional Championship with a 12-7 win over the Miami Christian Victors.

With the bases loaded in the fourth, Forbes had a three-RBI double to give the Warriors an 8-0 lead.Trinity Christian earned a trip back to the state finals for the eighth time in programme history.

The Warriors began the playoffs with an 8-4 win over No.7 ranked Seacrest Country Day in the Regional Quarterfinals. Forbes finished 2-3 and scored two runs.

The Jupiter Christian Eagles were forced to forfeit the Semifinal matchup and the Florida High School Athletic Association declared the Warriors the winners.

The Warriors concluded the regular season 16-7-2 and finished as runners-up to the Eagles in District 2A-14 title game.

Forbes was named an All-District (2A-14) by High School Baseball Network Florida. The junior outfielder is hitting .311 with 10 RBI, eight stolen bases, and four triples.

He recovered from an injury early in the year and returned to the field with his best game of the season in a win over Highland Christian on March 16. Forbes finished 3-4 with a home run, double, two RBI and scored two runs.
