75 new cases of COVID-19, one death

THE Ministry of Health recorded 75 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday and one additional death.

The country now has 11,396 confirmed COVID- 19 cases and 222 deaths. The latest death is a 73-year-old New Providence woman who died on May 19. Twenty-six other deaths are under investigation.

Of the 75 new cases, 61 are in New Providence, two are in Grand Bahama, two are in the Berry Islands and two are in Andros.

At last report, 51 people were in hospital with the virus, four of whom are in intensive care.

As of Wednesday, 94,058 tests had been completed with 371 completed that day.

This comes as officials continue to appeal to residents 18 and older to get vaccinated.
