TWO men were arrested in connection with the recent discovery of 7,000 marijuana plants at a field in Grand Bahama.

Superintendent Stephen Rolle reported that on Wednesday officers of the Drug Enforcement Unit executed a search warrant in connection with dangerous drugs at a residence on King Neptune Drive, Seahorse Village.

During a search of the home, no drugs were found. However, officers arrested a 51-year-old Bahamian man at the residence.

Supt Rolle said DEU officers executed a second search warrant at a residence on Bass Lane, where marijuana plants were found.

As a result, a 48-year-old Bahamian man who lives at the home was arrested.

Supt Rolle said both men were arrested in connection with the May 14 seizure of 7,000 marijuana plants at a field near Grand Bahama Highway. The two men are expected to be formally charged in court today.
