Prince catches three TDs

PRINCE Strachan continues to post standout numbers in his senior season of prep football.

Strachan finished with five receptions for over 150 yards and three touchdowns for his John Carroll Catholic Golden Rams in their 42-14 win over the King’s Academy Lions in West Palm Beach, Florida, on October 29.

John Carroll improved to 4-2 and will look to close out the regular season on November 5 against Melbourne Central Catholic.

It was his second three-touchdown game this season. He finished with eight receptions for 100 yards and three touchdowns in his Golden Rams’ 21-19 loss to Orlando Christian Prep on October 15.

On opening day, Strachan led his offence with eight catches for 158 yards in his team’s 27-9 win over Calvary Christian.

He also had three receptions for 61 yards in his team’s 20-0 win over the South Fork Bulldogs in week four. He also caught a pair of touchdown passes in a 54-21 win over the St John Paul II Academy Eagles in.

The Golden Rams had a delayed start to the season and have also missed two weeks due to several scheduling issues which have included weather delays and cancellations due to COVID-19 protocol.

Strachan, the 6’4” 17-year-old dual sport athlete who also runs the 400m, emerged as a star on the gridiron for the Golden Rams as a junior when he finished with a team-leading 33 receptions for 633 yards and eight touchdown.

His yardage and touchdown totals were second on the team. He also averaged 18.6 yards per catch and 57.5 receiving yards per game.

He was also named to the ESPN West Palm Top 63 List for the class of 202.

Strachan has picked up several NCAA offers at various levels including Lenoir Rhyne, St Thomas, and Notre Dame College.

Strachan has previously received an offer from the Charleston Golden Eagles. In addition, he has also drawn interest from the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers.
