A pedestrian is dead after he was struck by a car on Sunday night in New Providence.
Police were called to the scene in the area of Eastlyn and Village Road shortly before 11pm on Sunday.
Investigations revealed that a male driver of a grey 2015 Honda Accord was travelling south along Village Road when a vehicle that was overtaking in a northerly direction caused him to swerve, resulting in him colliding into a lamp pole and a male pedestrian, police said.
Emergency Medical Services visited the scene and pronounced the pedestrian dead. The driver was taken to the hospital by EMS as a result of his injuries.
The Royal Bahamas Police Force Traffic Division will continue investigations into this matter.
