A Royal Bahamas Defence Force officer was yesterday charged with the attempted murder of his reported ex-girlfriend.

Ewan Moncur, 35, appeared before Chief Magistrate Joyann Ferguson-Pratt after he was accused of trying to kill Crystal Horton on November 6.

Prosecutors alleged the marine also caused over $1,500 worth of damage to the vehicle the woman was riding in that day.

Due to the nature of the first offence, he was not required to enter a plea and his case was adjourned to January 2022 for service of a voluntary bill of indictment (VBI).

Moncur was granted $18,000 bail yesterday.
