POLICE said a woman stabbed her boyfriend because she was suspicious he had sexually assaulted her 12-year-old daughter.
Police were called to a home in southwest New Providence shortly after 1pm on Monday, where they met a man with stab wounds about the body.
“Preliminary reports are that the adult male is suspected of sexually assaulting the 12-year-old daughter of his girlfriend at the residence,” a police report said.
“This allegedly resulted in the girlfriend stabbing him.”
The man was arrested and the child was taken to the hospital to be examined for the alleged assault.
An investigation is continuing.
