A CASHIER who denied stealing more than $10,000 from her place of employment was yesterday granted bail ahead of her trial.

Police accused Pamela Cartwright, 37, of stealing $10,700.50 from Chances Games on August 22.

They also accused her of making a false entry into Chances Games’ point of sale system purporting to show the $10,000 figure was deposited to a woman’s account while knowing the funds were never received.

Prosecutors allege Cartwright also dealt with the $10,700.50, which in part represented the proceeds of criminal conduct.

She denied the allegations when she appeared before Magistrate Kendra Kelly and her case was adjourned to February 7 for trial.

In the meantime, Cartwright was granted $10,000 bail. As part of the conditions of her release, she must sign into the Carmichael Road police station monthly leading up to her court date.

If she fails to comply, she could risk having her bail revoked and being remanded until that time.
