See the pre-event PR for the US Football Bowl on December 14th has started —
Ministry of Tourism.....Ministry of Sports please confirm –show the viability of sponsoring this event?
The visual on ESPN or whatever Network the event is aired is empty bleachers at Thomas Robinson a positive image? Unlike the only successful sports event the Atlantis Collegiate basketball event this Bowl event does little or nothing to boost tourism.
I read that the Ministry of Sports is wasting their time trying to spend a $1million or so on the IAAF relays.....again empty bleachers and few visitors... Minister, do athletes indulge in drinking and gambling? No. Unless a sporting event fills the hotels forget it. Even after we dropped IAAF the event went to Japan the stands in the stadium were empty!
If the good Minister doesn't understand the current fiscal position of The Bahamas he better find out or someone responsibly advise him....we don't have loose money to waste!
Grand Bahama Stadium ....you got to be joking.
Yes, a scrooge, but fiscally responsible.
