TWO men and a woman who denied being in possession of a firearm they allegedly used to make an officer fear for his life were yesterday granted bail before their trial.

Deandro Munnings, 31, Ricardo Russell, 33, and Alexandria Knowles, 27, appeared before Magistrate Shaka Serville after they were accused of having a black and rusted Zastava Serbia 7.62 pistol without being the holders of a firearm licence on September 27.

Prosecutors also alleged the three were found with 30 unfired rounds of 7.62 ammunition that day and said the accused used the gun and bullets to put Detective Constable 3914 Charlton in fear.

During the arraignment, Munnings, Knowles and Russell denied the allegations and their case was adjourned to December 20 for trial.

Knowles and Russell were each granted $5,000 bail until that time.

Munnings was also charged with disorderly behaviour and resisting arrest after officers accused him of being difficult with Police Constable 4191 Higgs while the officer was acting in the execution of his duty.

After he pleaded not guilty to those charges, he was granted $7,000 bail.

He also returns to court in December for trial.
