BIMINI police arrested an American man yesterday for suspected possession of a stolen vessel.

Shortly after 11am, officers from the Department of Customs told officers at the Alice Town Police Station that while at Brown’s Marina, they discovered a vessel with registration #FL7024PK, which did not undergo the necessary reporting requirements upon entering the country.

Upon officers’ arrival, initial investigations revealed that a 2012 Blue and White 37’ 6” Boston Whaler vessel with three outboard engines attached was parked at the marina. An American man identified himself as the captain. When questioned by officers, he could not give a satisfactory account as to how he came to be in possession of the vessel. The man was arrested and is assisting police with the ongoing investigation.
