Two stories hit me from your Tuesday edition... if there was still The Punch today I am sure Ivan Johnson will have had a totally different spin on those stories.
Story one the well known Numbers person and his issues with the US Justice system... trafficking in persons is an exceptionally serious crime… just how could pre-election a leader of a political party give his recommendation and support to that person’s case for US Court leniency? Exceptional bad judgement, Editor.
One of the recipients of National Honours... many, many times the gentleman appeared in The Punch ‘Grapevine’ with serious allegations of his early life and involvement in questionable areas.....for sure The Punch would have reported on that.
National Honours or recommendations for leniency to foreign Governments cannot be flippant actions.
