Bahamians perform well in ITA Cup

FORMERLY known as the Small College Nationals, the ITA Cup has a history dating back to 1986, and it is the only singles and doubles national championship event for the Division II and NAIA levels.

The Bahamas had two of its players in the Men’s Open Doubles East Division of the ITA Cup this weekend.

They performed well and were able to advance in tournament play.

Joshua Turnquest and partner Juan Rocco advanced to the quarterfinals where they lost to the San Diego Christian team. Jacobi Bain and partner J. Ramirez advanced to the finals where they lost to Georgio Gwinett.

Jacobi and partner won over the 2nd and 3rd seeded teams along the way in 2 exciting tiebreak matches.

The Bahamas Lawn Tennis Association (BLTA) congratulated Jacobi and partner on a great run to the finals and Joshua and partner on a good run to the quarterfinals.
