A MAN who denied injuring a police officer was yesterday granted bail before his trial.

Prosecutors alleged that Trey Hamilton dragged PC 4065 Morley out of his vehicle on October 16.

However, in court yesterday Hamilton claimed he was only defending himself after the officer tried to assault him.

Since his plea was not unequivocal, Magistrate Swain said she would record a not guilty plea and adjourned his case to December 9 for trial.

Hamilton was granted $3,000 bail in the meantime.
