A couple accused of having sex in public are set to stand trial at the end of this month.

Marvin Martin, 49, and Carol Bowe, 32, were arrested after they were accused of getting caught in the act in a car on June 15.

Prosecutors said the two also exposed an eight-year-old girl in a manner likely to cause her unnecessary suffering or injury, after they allegedly had sex in front of her.

Both Martin and Bowe pleaded not guilty to sexual intercourse in a public place and cruelty to children when they appeared before Chief Magistrate Joyanne Ferguson-Pratt in June. Their case was transferred and adjourned to September 1 for trial; however, the matter did not proceed.

When the couple appeared before Magistrate Algernon Allen yesterday, he adjourned the matter to September 30 for trial.

The couple’s $8,500 bail was extended until that time. They must report to the Wulff Road Police Station every Tuesday on or before 6pm until their court case.
