The Bahamas Mantas Water Polo team competed at the Texas Shootout Tournament for the Under-12 mixed age group over the weekend in Texas.
The team finished in seventh place with two victories and two losses.
According to coach Lotty Borbely, he’s only been able to train the next generation of water polo players since August 10 at the Betty Kelly Kenning Swim Complex, but he was pleased with the way they performed and the valuable lessons that they learned from the experience.
In their first game on Saturday, September 4, Bahamas Mantas won 11-6 over Triumph, but they lost 8-4 to Pegasus in their second game of a double header.
On Sunday, Bahamas Mantas played another double header and after getting nipped 15-14 by Zilla, before they bounced back to take out their frustrations out on Alamo Area in an 18-6 rout.
