Davis leads trip to UN

PRIME Minister Philip “Brave” Davis will lead a delegation today to participate in the 76th Session of the United Nations in New York.

Included in the delegation are Minister of Foreign Affairs and Public Service Fred Mitchell, Minister of State in the Office of the Prime Minister Myles Laroda, and officials of the Office of the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Mr Davis and his delegation will travel to New York today. He will deliver the country’s national address tomorrow.

Mr Mitchell, along with foreign service officer Krissy Hanna, travelled to New York yesterday. While there, he is expected to hold a number of bilateral meetings with other foreign ministers.

Topics of discussion at the UN session will be recovery from the COVID pandemic, climate change, democracy, peace and human rights.

Mr Davis and his delegation will return to The Bahamas on Sunday.
