ABACO Police are investigating an apparent suicide on that island on Thursday after a man was discovered dead at a residence in Marsh Harbour.
According to police, a man was found unresponsive at his residence on Don McKay Boulevard shortly after 5pm.
Assistant Superintendent of Police Stephen Rolle reported that officers from the Marsh Harbour Police Station went to the residence where they discovered an adult male inside a northern bedroom closet, lying on his back with an apparent gunshot injury to his head.
He said EMS personnel were called to the scene and examined the victim, but found no signs of life. The body was taken to the Marsh Harbour Clinic, where a doctor pronounced him dead.
ASP Rolle said investigations are continuing.
