TWO men were remanded to prison yesterday after they were accused of committing armed robbery and a number of firearm offences earlier this month.

Giovany Octavien and Rashad McPhee were arrested after they were accused of using a handgun to rob Natasja Whyly of her 2011 Mitsubishi Colt on September 2.

Prosecutors said the pair were also found with a black Smith & Wesson 9mm pistol with five live rounds of ammunition, which they were also accused of using to endanger the life of Ms Whyly on the same day.

Octavian and McPhee were further accused of using a gun to rob another woman of $5,236 on September 21.

Police alleged that the men were also found with two .40 pistols which each contained seven live rounds of .40 ammunition.

Due to the nature of the charges, the men were not required to enter a plea and their case was adjourned to December 13 for service of a voluntary bill of indictment.

In the meantime, Octavian and McPhee were denied bail and remanded to the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services.

They both have a right to apply to the Supreme Court for bail.
