President Perry Newton said: “We saw alot of grit and talent today. Briana and Kaylah went the distance in their single matches and maintained a high standard throughout the three sets, this is very commendable. Tatyana, Brianna and Kaylah are displaying their talent in the Dominican Republic.

“What is so impressive is that all of them are first timers at this regional competition but are making their presence felt in a big way. “We knew the host country would give us a really good matchup. However, our team was up to the challenge. We extend congratulations to the team and to coach Marion who is doing a great job.”

Team Bahamas is scheduled to face Dominican Team Two today.
