JOHN Cox and Erin Pritchard emerged as the King and Queen of the New Providence Cycling Association’s road race held on Sunday around the Medical Arts building on Fort Charlotte.

Cox clinched the overall male title in one hour and 11 minutes in a half-mile, while Pritchard was the overall female winner in 1.37m. It was dubbed the shortest race - as the competitors climbed from the bottom of the hill to the top - a route they did twice to determine the winners.

In the peewees 5-7 years category, Phoenix Burrows won the girls title in 11mins, while Kayleon Daley took the boys title in 2.53.

The cadets 9-11 years saw Paityn Burrows win the girls title in 3.30m. Laughlin Menzies won the boys crown in 1.55m, followed by Sibby Potter in 1.58m; Lyall Menzies in 2.23m; Kendrick Cargil in 2.25m; Fraser Menzies in 2.33m; Anthony Knowles in 3.02m and Thaddius Knowels in 3.42m.

Taylor Knowles won the girls 12-14 title in 2.38m. Malcolm Menzies won the boys’ title in 1.27m and trailed by Brian Burrows in 1.51m; Callum Pritchard in 2.23m; Thomas Knowles in 2.34m; Mirko Gervasini in 2.45m; Nathaniel Adderley in 3.05m and Khristian Wright in 4.00m.

While Pritchard won the girls 15-17 in 1.37m, Anjaleah Knowles got second in 1.46m and Adriel Pratt was third in 1.56m. Barron Musgrove Jr. won the boys 16-17 in 1.34m and Enea Gervasini was second in 1.41m.

Winning the overall women’s title was Sanchia Fritzmaurice in 1.55m. Ilaria Gervasini was second in 1.59m; Carol Collier was third in 2.02m and Lynn Pritchard was fourth in 2.09m.

Adam Potter won the masters title in 1.33m.

Cox, the overall male winner, also took the open men’s category over Kevin Daley, who did 1.16m; Felix Neely, third in 1.20m; Tim Gwynne, fourth in 1.27m; Wes Albury, fifth in 1.33m; Jeff Tynes, sixth in 1.38m; Patrick Paul, seventh in 1.41m and Doran Roach, eighth in 1.42m.
