Girl, 14, charged over knife attack

By PAVEL BAILEY

A 14-year-old girl was arraigned in Magistrate’s Court yesterday accused of attacking a woman with a knife.

The juvenile appeared before Senior Magistrate Derence Rolle Davis on a charge of assault with a dangerous instrument.

She was arrested on March 15 at Kenilworth Street for allegedly assaulting a woman with a knife.

She pleaded not guilty to the charge.

As the accused was already on police bail, Magistrate Rolle Davis extended it for the 14 year old.

However, as a stipulation for her bail, the accused was placed on curfew. She is ordered to remain in her home from 8am to 5pm Mondays through Fridays, as well as 8am to 2pm on Saturdays and remain indoors all day on Sundays.

Her case was adjourned to July 6.
