A 14-year-old boy was granted bail yesterday after he was arraigned in connection with $12,000 worth of fraud charges.

The minor appeared before Magistrate Kara Turnquest-Deveaux on five counts of fraud by false pretences and two counts of money laundering.

According to the prosecution, between March 6 and April 11 through the use of various aliases the accused allegedly defrauded five separate people of a total of $12,450.

For one of the fraud charges of $3,500, a 27-year-old female accomplice was charged with abetting fraud.

In court, the accused was represented by Ian Cargill where he pleaded not guilty to the seven charges against him.

The magistrate granted the boy bail at $8,000 with one or two sureties.
