Two shot at Grand Bahama nightclub

TWO men were shot at a Grand Bahama nightspot on Friday, police said.

The Royal Bahamas Police Force received a report of the double shooting at East Sunrise Highway shortly before 11pm.

Responding officers were told that a group of men was standing outside the establishment having a conversation when they were approached by a gunman.

The gunman pointed and discharged the firearm in their direction, shooting one of the men in his left hip and leg and the other in his left knee.

They were both taken to Rand Memorial Hospital in a private vehicle, where they were examined by a doctor, who listed their injuries as non-life-threatening.

Meanwhile, Abaco police are investigating an armed robbery that took place on Saturday. Marsh Harbour officers received a report about a robbery at a business after 10pm.

Initial reports revealed that a male resident of Cooper’s Town, Abaco, was at the business when he was approached by a gunman who demanded cash.

The man handed over an undetermined amount of cash before the gunman escaped on foot.

A man was later arrested in connection with this incident.

Investigations are continuing.
