So, we chose advisors and consultants — let’s hope their choice or initial consideration for retention is based on critical criteria at the least in the area they are intended to be retained the person or persons have already shown their expertise and have been called on by a Ministry — a Minister - a Permanent Secretary or a Board.
If not or no to all of the above — please, then explain the rationale for retaining and paying the person?
Security issues surely first line of the basic qualification is had any of the past three Commissioners of Police called or had reason to call on that person to ‘give advice’?
If No in all cases, then the public has to ask... why retain obviously someone who the professionals don’t call on for advice?
It’s time we govern with sense and purpose.
