A MAN was granted $3,000 bail yesterday after allegedly being found by police with a loaded pistol over the summer.

Kerzner Hanna, 24, stood before Magistrate Samuel McKinney on charges of possession of an unlicenced firearm and possession of ammunition.

Hanna was found on July 4 by authorities with a black Smith & Wesson M&P .45 pistol with the serial number erased. At the time of his arrest, the accused also had three live rounds of .45 ammunition, police allege.

In court, Hanna pleaded not guilty to the charges. He was granted $3,000 bail with one or two sureties. The conditions of his bail are that he is expected to sign in at East Street South Police Station every Wednesday by 7pm.

Hanna’s trial will begin on January 19, 2023.
