Avoiding the media

EDITOR, The Tribune.

Is the post election honeymoon over and Government goes back to avoiding the media and the question?

The American style press officer isn’t who we expect Ministers to be accessible to the public and the media…not controlled and certainly the press officer needs to understand his job is to “report facts not editorialise and opinionated”.

Security? Seems rather peculiar to say the least that the RBDF at Sir Cecil Wallace-Whitifield would not know if Cabinet was to be held there on a Tuesday they would be expected to accommodate the media in and outside the office.

Editor, thought we were promised access - Government transparency?

Why doesn’t the Prime Minister commit to Question time every Wednesday in the House? Didn’t the PLP in opposition scream that Minnis/FNM did not give replies to over 300 questions – foot on the other foot now surely you are not avoiding being questioned?

Suspect honeymoon is over so we will see entrenching - avoiding - refusal to comment anyway we used to all of that then arrogance will come and we kick this lot out like we did Minnis, Christie, Ingraham and Pindling – one term Government all “canceled” by arrogance.
